: Television anime “The Elusive Samurai” is adapted from the manga of the same name created by Yusei Matsui, and the film is produced by CloverWorks. In 1333 AD, the Kamakura shogunate, which laid the foundation for Japan's samurai rule, fell due to the rebellion of its trusted shogunate, the Ashikaga Takauji. The orthodox heir to the shogunate, Hojo Tokiyuki, who loses everything and is pushed into the abyss of despair, escapes from the scorched earth of Kamakura under the guidance of Suwa Yorishige, a priest who claims to be a god... After Tokiyuki flees to Suwa, he meets trustworthy partners and slowly accumulates the strength needed to reclaim Kamakura. Facing the turbulent waves of the changing times, and going against the samurai's way of survival of "fighting" and "death", Tokiyuki chooses to "escape" and "survive" to overcome the difficulties. Starting from this troubled world with many heroes, how will the game of tag where Tokiyuki tries to regain control of the world develop? This anime will be streaming on iQIYI International (iQ.com) from July 7 onwards.
