In March 2003, Han Geng, who was only 19 years old, went to South Korea to join SM Entertainment as a trainee. In November 2005, SM Entertainment launched the group Super Junior, catering to the Asian entertainment market. This group attracted a lot of attention right from the start and rapidly gained popularity in a very short time. Han Geng was the group's only Chinese member and was also the first Chinese to officially debut in South Korea. For that, he was a highlight of the group. On August 7, he completed his mission as one of the 240 torchbearers in Beijing. On April 8, Han Geng officially debuted in China with SJ-M and released their first Chinese album "Me" on the 20th. He took SJ-M on several big variety shows and did many performances. In January 2009, Han Geng's first drama as a lead, "Stage of Youth," aired on several large TV stations. At the beginning of the year, Super Junior held a concert in Seoul, Korea, and Nanjing and Chengdu in China. In March, Super Junior released their third album and started a series of promotional events. On May 1, Super Junior participated in the "Jackie Chan and Friends" concert in the Beijing National Stadium. On September 14, SJ-M released their second album and their "Super Girl" music video. Afterward, Han Geng led his members to Mainland China and Taiwan to attend several promotional events. On December 21, Han Geng officially submitted a request to the Seoul Central District Court to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment.
