"Chiu Man-Cheuk was born on April 10th, 1972, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. He is the youngest of three boys. His father was a martial arts practitioner and his mother was a professional sprinter. Under the instruction of his father, he attended martial arts lessons at the age of eight. He was a member of the Harbin City Martial Arts Team. He is good at sword, gun, and boxing, and he can perform more than 300 sets of boxing techniques. In 1990, he entered the Martial Arts Department of Beijing Sports University to receive martial arts training. Afterward, he joined the acting industry and filmed a number of martial arts movies and TV dramas. In 1990, he was admitted to the Wushu Department of Beijing Sports University to receive martial arts training, and was the first in his family to go to university. From the age of 12, he won numerous awards, including the Junior Champion of the Chinese National Championships, the All-round Champion of the Chinese National University Competition, the National Wushu Champion (1991), and the National Wuying Level Sportsman of China. In 1991, he only practiced for only two months, but still won the national championship. In 1992, he signed with a film studio as an actor. On May 7th, 1995, he and Anita Mui went to Sabah, Malaysia for a vacation. The two were secretly photographed by a reporter from ""Next Magazine"" swimming together for five days and four nights. Their relationship was then revealed. Their relationship was not well-received. Anita Mui's status as a big sister in the entertainment industry has generated invisible pressure on Chiu Man-Cheuk. After a misunderstanding that neither of them wanted to explain, they finally broke up in February 1996.
